This Cutterman Officer badge is an official issue and is ready to be worn on US Coast Guard uniforms. Comes in a gold finish and is a regulation-sized badge that measures 2 ½ inches in size. On the back, there is a pin clutch backing that will keep your badge securely on your uniform. This insignia is meant to be worn on uniforms, but also could be displayed in formal attire or in your shadow box collection. The Cutterman Badge is awarded to represent service aboard a Coast Guard cutter. The badge is awarded on a temporary basis after six months of sea time, qualification in required watch stations, successful completion of an oral or written board exam, and receiving a recommendation from their unit's commanding officer. Officers wear the gold Cutterman badge and enlisted personnel wears the silver oxide finish version. The US Coast Guard Cutterman Officer badge is made, handled, and inspected 100 percent in the USA.
