PA Distinguished Service Medal

The Pennsylvania Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon is awarded for recognition of meritorious service, beyond the call of the normal dictates of duty to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, by any commissioned officer of the Pennsylvania National Guard, NM, SG or of the U.S. Armed Forces. Such service must have been performed exceptionally by one in a unique level of responsibility or in a succession of high positions of great importance. On May 27th, 1949 this decoration was authorized by the state legislature, as recorded in Art XI, Sec 1101 (Act 568). The ribbon displays the color blue on the ends (5/16 inch), followed by a 1/16 inch wide red stripe, and a white middle that is ⅝ inch wide. Pennsylvania Distinguished Service Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
