OK Meritorious Service Medal

The Oklahoma Meritorious Service Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This decoration is for any Oklahoma National Guard Member who performs outstanding meritorious service that, to a marked degree, is reflected in the increased efficiency and growth of that branch of the Oklahoma National Guard to which the individual belongs, or that brings credit to the Oklahoma National Guard over and above that which occurs by reason of the superior performance of assigned duties. On June 7th, 1961 this award was authorized by the legislature in HB 699, as recorded in Title 44, Ch 3, Sec 5. On the left and right ends of the ribbon has the color gold measuring 1/16 inch and a sky blue middle that is 1 ¼ inch wide. Oklahoma Meritorious Service Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
