KY Distinguished Service Medal

The Kentucky Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This decoration is awarded for: an act of heroism, exceptionally meritorious service in a position of responsibility where performance is clearly exceptional, many years of service in successive positions of responsibility where the performance of duties has been exceptional, or retirement after more than 20 years. On May 4th, 1953 this award was officially authorized by Cir 4. On the left and right side of the ribbon, it has the colors light blue (15/32 inch) and white (5/32 inch) with a red middle that measures ⅛ inch. Kentucky Distinguished Service Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA by US Veterans. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
