NM Outstanding Service Medal

The New Mexico Outstanding Service Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity with or as a member of the National Guard or SDF, performs the required or requested service through the exertion of extra effort and in a manner that brings credit to self, unit, or the state, either over a period of time or on a specific occasion. On March 22nd, 1973 the state legislature authorized this award in HB 331, as recorded in Ch 120. The ribbon has yellow ends that are ⅛ inch, followed by a green stripe on both sides that is ¼ inch, and a middle that is yellow measuring ⅝ inch. New Mexico Outstanding Service Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
