MS Commendation Medal

The Mississippi Commendation Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon is awarded for meritorious service or achievement on behalf of the state of Mississippi by any member or former member of the Mississippi National Guard. The required service or achievement must have been accomplished with distinction and should have been of such magnitude that it clearly places the individual above peers. An award for meritorious service normally will not be made for a period of less than one year in duration. On June 14th, 1962 this ribbon was authorized by GO 60 of the same date. Come in the color gray with five red stripes, the smaller stripes measuring 1/16 inch and the middle being ¼ inch wide. Mississippi Commendation Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
