IN Distinguished Service Medal

The Indiana Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This decoration is awarded by any military member or civilian which to a marked degree, is reflected in the increased efficiency of the militia, or which brings exceptional and great honor to credit to Indiana armed forces and commands the attention and respect of the citizens of the state and members of the military establishment throughout the United States. On March 13th, 1953 this ribbon was authorized by the Indiana state legislature with the passage of HB 439, as recorded in Ch 187, Sec. 901. Comes in a stripe pattern with yellow ends measuring ⅛ inch, followed by green (5/16), then a small orange striped measuring 1/16, followed by more green (⅛), and a yellow center that measures ⅛ inch then continues with the pattern. Indiana Distinguished Service Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA by US Veterans. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
