FL Distinguished Service Medal

The Florida Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This decoration is awarded for bravery or meritorious service affecting the Florida National Guard, by members of the same; or to individuals, not members of the FL National Guard, for bravery directly affecting members of the organizations of the Florida National Guard or for outstanding meritorious service to the Florida NG. This award may also be awarded to civilians for acts of heroism. On January 1st, 1948 this ribbon was authorized by the Florida National Guard Reg 1-2. Comes in a color pattern with red ends measuring ⅛ inch, followed by white stripes measuring 5/16 inch, and a red middle that is ½ inch. Florida Distinguished Service Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA by US Veterans. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
