LA Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon

The Louisiana Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This is awarded for exceptionally meritorious duty of great responsibility by any person who served in the active Louisiana National Guard in state service, or for unselfish and untiring activities in connection with the Military Department by rendering a distinct service in furthering the security of the state. On December 4th, 1933 this award was authorized by GO 7, but the medal was not actually manufactured until 1949. The right and left ends of the ribbon the color is white measuring ⅛ inch in size and the middle is 1 ⅛ inches in size. Louisiana Distinguished Service Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
