DC Commendation Medal

The District of Columbia Commendation Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon may be awarded to NCOs, in the grades of E-6 to E-9, who meet the criteria for award of the EER, and whole leadership, devotion to duty, personal development, and commendable service or achievement have rendered a distinct service to the unit. On December 6th, 1983 this award was authorized by Chg 4 to DCARNGR 672-1-1, dated October 1st, 1982. On the left side, it displays the color green, and on the right side the color blue, with a white middle, and three red stripes. District of Columbia Commendation Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar. To purchase this ribbon for yourself or a family member's shadow box, or display case, we require a DD-214 or other valid proof that this medal was honorably awarded.
