LA Commendation Medal

The Louisiana Commendation Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon is awarded for acts of heroism, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service by any member of the Louisiana National Guard. The award may be made to individuals not who are not members of the Louisiana National Guard who have distinguished themselves by an act of heroism, extraordinary achievement, or meritorious service that has been of benefit to the Louisiana National Guard. On September 9th, 1974 this award was addressed in LA ARNG 672-1-2, as amended by Chg 3. The ribbon has a color pattern of blue (½ inch), red (⅛ inch), white (⅛ inch), blue (⅛ inch), and gold (½ inch). Louisiana Commendation Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA by US Veterans. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
