The Kentucky Commendation Ribbons is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon is awarded for heroism, the outstanding performance of duty; meritorious achievement, or for attaining DG status from Army or Air Force resident courses of instruction. On May 4th, 1953 this award was the last to be authorized by Cir 4. On the left and right side displays the colors maroon (3/16 inch), white (¼ inch), maroon (⅛ inch) and the middle is white measuring ¼ inch. Kentucky Commendation Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA by US Veterans. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar. To purchase this ribbon for yourself or a family member's shadow box, or display case, we require a DD-214 or other valid proof that this medal was honorably awarded.
