AL Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon

The Alabama Distinguished Service Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry state ribbon. This decoration, Alabama’s highest, is awarded by the governor for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished military or civilian service, in positions of great responsibility, to the benefit of the United States or to Alabama. This is comparable in rank to the Distinguished Service Medals of the U.S. federal military forces. The AL Distinguished Service Medal was authorized and promulgated by EO on October 19th, 1949. Comes in a pattern of alternating red and white stripes with each stripe measuring 1/16 inches each. Alabama Distinguished Service Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
