AK State Service Medal Ribbon

The Alaska State Service Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This award is issued upon completion of 10 years of service by a member of the Alaska National Guard. Each year or portion, therefore, of active or inactive service prior to July 1st, 1949 is creditable. Authority for this longevity award first appeared in Cir 44-14, dated Dec 4, 1963. The outer layer of the ribbon is blue that is ½ inch gold being ⅛ inch, and an interior green strip that is ⅛ inch. Alaska State Service Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
