The Kentucky Medal of Valor Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This decoration is awarded to recognize heroism by any member of the Kentucky National Guard while in service of the state and/or nation. On May 4th, 1953 the Medal of Valor was authorized by the AG in Cir 4, as promulgated in the regulation of November 30th, 1953. On the ends of the ribbon are blue measuring ⅛ inch, followed by a white stripe that is ¼ inch wide, and a blue middle that is 11/16 inch wide. Kentucky Medal of Valor Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar. To purchase this ribbon for yourself or a family member's shadow box, or display case, we require a DD-214 or other valid proof that this medal was honorably awarded.
