NC Governor's Unit Citation

The North Carolina Governor’s Unit Citation Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon is awarded by the governor to any unit of the North Carolina National Guard distinguishing itself by extraordinary heroism or meritorious service while in a state active status. The unit must display gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps that clearly set it apart from and above other units participating in the same or similar type duty. On April 18th, 1977 this ribbon was authorized by the legislature in SB 309, as recorded in Ch 229. The ribbon is blue (½ inch), gray (⅜ inch), and red (½ inch) with a gold frame around the ribbon. North Carolina Governor’s Unit Citation Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
