OK Star of Valor

The Oklahoma Star of Valor Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This decoration, the state’s highest peacetime award, is presented for performance of an act of heroism involving voluntary risk of life or limb by any member of the Oklahoma National Guard intending to protect the life of another person under conditions other than those of conflict with an armed enemy. On March 30th, 1970 this award was authorized by the state legislature in SB 644, as recorded in Ch 99. The ribbon displays red on both ends measuring 3/16 inch, followed by a white stripe that measures 3/16 inch, and a red middle that is ⅝ inch wide. Oklahoma Star of Valor Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA by US Veterans. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
