The Indiana Military Volunteer Emblem Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This award recognizes those members of the Indiana National Guard who serve beyond the prescribed mandatory military obligation, thus indicating they are truly volunteers Both active service and reserve service both can be creditable for this award. On July 21st, 1964 this award was first authorized by GO 59 with an effective date of July 22nd, 1964. Comes in a gold finish emblem and a blue and golden yellow color pattern. Indiana Military Volunteer Emblem Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
