AK Commendation Medal

The Alaska Commendation Medal Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This is the third-highest of Alaska’s decorations, comparable in rank to the Commendation Medals of several branches of the United States Armed Forces, which was designed to recognize heroic or exceptionally meritorious service to the Alaska National Guard, NM, or DMVA. On October 8th, 1969 this ribbon was authorized by DMA Reg 44-5. This ribbon comes with a light blue ribbon on the ends measuring ⅛ inch and is white in the center measuring 1 ⅛ inch. Alaska Commendation Medal Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
