The Army Expert Field Medical Badge was approved in 1965 to be awarded to individuals who have attained a high state of technical skill in field medical functions. Qualifying personnel have successfully completed all pertinent Army Regulation testing and demonstrated excellent skill and performance. The badge displays a stretcher crossed by a caduceus surmounted at top by a Greek cross. The addition of the Greek cross to the official Medical Corps insignia alludes to the Geneva Convention. This badge comes in a mirror finish and is 100% Made in the USA, but is also available in a silver oxide finish.
