Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Rank (SMSgt) is the fourth Non-Commissioned Officer rank in the United States Air Force. Promotion to this rank is an especially significant accomplishment and honor, being that less than 10% of Master Sergeants progress to this rank. The embroidered design includes three downward pointing chevrons in brown spice stitching, outlined in tan stitching, an encircled star in the center, two curved chevron below the encircled star, and two upward-pointing chevrons atop the pin.
