Initially authorized in 1987, this badge was awarded to officers and enlisted personnel who held AFSCs in the administration career area. Officers must have possessed a fully qualified AFSC and one year of experience in the career field to be awarded the basic badge while enlisted personnel required a 5-level AFSC.
This badge has already been replaced by the new Information Management Badge and will be obsolete in 1998. Requirements for the new badge changed to correspond with the other badges that were created- three and seven years' experience for senior and master badges, respectively. In 1997, this career field merged with the communications career field. Personnel will wear both badges until upgrading to the senior or master level when they will then wear the new badge.
