The Air Force Civil Engineer Badge was authorized in 1993 and awarded to officers and enlisted personnel in the civil engineer field. Individuals in his career field who are also qualified in the EOD career field and may wear the appropriate EOD badge. Some of the duties incorporated into the field include: power plant management; construction of roads, buildings and airfield; fire protection; base housing; disaster preparedness; hazardous material management and disposal; environmental protection; real estate; and explosive ordnance disposal.
