Established in 1989 as a Major Command of the U.S. Army, the mission of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command is to train, equip, mobilize, deploy, and sustain special operations forces to conduct clandestine missions throughout the world.
Comprised of approximately 25,000 Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and Civilian professionals, ARSOC oversees several major subordinate commands, including the U.S. Army Special Forces Command, U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command, and the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. Specializing in unconventional warfare, direct action, reconnaissance, combat search and rescue, and counter-insurgency operations, USASOC has played a pivotal role in America’s defense.
This coin is dedicated to the highly skilled members of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), whose outstanding courage and commitment ensure America’s continued military dominance.
The obverse contains a rendering of the official Shoulder Sleeve Insignia of the Army Special Operations Command, which features a single-handled black sword against a red backdrop. The reverse bears the SOCOM tip of the spear emblem. Bot sides display the Latin phrase “Sine Pari,” which is translated “Without Equal.”
Minted with a shiny brass finish, this coin is imbued with enamel on both sides.
