TX Medal of Merit

The Texas Medal of Merit Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This decoration may be presented to any member of the military forces of Texas, another state, or the U.S., in recognition of outstanding service or extraordinary service on behalf of the state or the United States. On January 12th, 1954 this award appears to have been instituted for the National Guard by GO 5 although there is a possibility it was mentioned in GO 7, dated on May 23rd, 1933. The ribbon comes in a color pattern of red, blue, and gold stripes from left to right and is ready to be worn on official uniforms. Texas Medal of Merit Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
