The Senior Aviator Badge is the next level above the Army Aviator badge. It has a star above the shield to denote it is a higher award.
To qualify for it, the recipient must have 1,500 flying hours in aircraft or seven years from being awarded the basic badge.
The badge is 3/4" in height and is 2 1/2" in width. The center of the badge is the shield of the United States with extended wings.
