The Humanitarian Service Ribbon is awarded to those who distinguish themselves by meritorious direct participation in a DOD-approved, significant military act or operation of a humanitarian nature. This ribbon was instituted in 1977 and is awarded for service between 1975 to present time. Humanitarian Service ribbons are worn on official uniforms for all branches and services with bronze or silver star devices. These ribbons are made to the highest official government standards and uniform approved. All of the ribbons we have featured are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
