The Enlisted Air Defense Artillery Insignia is officially hallmarked and approved by The U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This insignia displays two crossed cannons, or field guns, and a central missile. This insignia has been in use since 1957, though the crossed cannons have been used to identify Artillery officers since 1843. The Air Defense Artillery was established as a basic branch of the Army in 1968 and authorized to retain the insignia displaying the two crossed cannons and a missile. This insignia pin has a gold finish, two pins on the back, and measures about 1 inch in diameter. This pin comes with an additional pin reading “U.S.” and each of the items is 100% USA made.
