DOT 9-11 Mini-Ribbon

Instituted: 2002 (Retroactive to 2001) Criteria: Awarded to an individual serving in any capacity within the DOT, Merchant Marine or other civilians, for an act or service that contributed to recovery from the attacks of September 11 2001, force protection following the attacks, or efforts that directly contributed to the increased infrastructure security effort between September 11, 2001 and September 11, 2002. This is a ribbon only award. Considered a unit award for Coast Guard. Ribbon starts with red closest to heart. It was shown incorrectly in our old ribbon guide but after checking with Coast Guard, we were able to verify the correct orientation of the ribbon.
