The Defense Superior Service Ribbon is awarded by the Secretary of Defense to any member of the armed forces for superior meritorious service after February 6, 1976, in a position of significant responsibility while assigned to a DOD joint activity, including the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and specified and unified commands. Defense Superior Service ribbons are worn on US Military uniforms with Bronze and Silver Oak Leaf Cluster devices. The ribbons are made to the highest official government standards and uniform approved. All of the ribbons we have featured are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
