The Coast Guard Medal Ribbon is awarded to those showing heroism not involving actual conflict with an armed enemy of the US. This act of heroism had to involve personal danger or risk of death in the face of great danger while doing something voluntarily while you could risk your own well-being. This USCG ribbon was made to the highest government and military standards and is ready to be worn on a US Coast Guard uniform. Heroism ribbons are worn with Gold Star devices when placed on uniforms. These ribbons are made by US Veterans which are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
