Chief Petty Officer Machinists Mate Rating Red On Blue

Chief Petty Officer Machinist’s Mate Rating is an official issue of the United States Navy. Being a Machinist’s Mate there are three service ratings under the MM rating, Machinist's Mate Auxiliary, Nuclear Power, and Machinist's Mate Weapons. The Navy Rate you receive will be Petty Officer 1st Class and you will need to cut the rank to make 2nd or 3rd class. The rating was established in 1885 and then changed in 1904 while displaying a three-bladed propeller with one blade pointing down. Has a red on blue finish which indicates less than 12 years of service being regulation size and is uniform ready. Can be easily sewed onto any official United States Navy like service dress blue.
