The Bronze Star Ribbon is awarded to individuals who, while serving in the United States Armed Forces in a combat theater, distinguish themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement, or by meritorious service not involving aerial flight. This ribbon was instituted in 1944 and is retroactive to 7 Dec. 1941. These are worn on official uniforms with bronze letter devices. All ribbons are made in the USA by US Veterans and have the highest government standards and are military approved. Bronze Star ribbons come unmounted and holding bars are sold separately.
