When we set out to do these pins, we designed them to be pinned on anything. What you design onscreen and what you actually mint sometimes does not match up. We ended up getting our samples back (shown) and they were better that we ever imagined. As happy accidents go, a couple of the samples ended up at our winter photoshoot and shots we normally reserve for ribbon and medals where tied up when one of our designers put a pin through the lapel button slot. We instantly transformed our model into “THE MODEL VET” – sharp, clean and wonderfully understated with such focus on this small piece of metal. They sit so handsomely on the lapel that we renamed the line, our “Military Metal Dress Pins.”
