First approved on 12 February 1957, the Army Master Aviator Badge identifies individuals who have satisfactorily completed the prescribed training and proficiency test conducted by the US Army Aviation Center and have been designated as an Aviator in appropriate orders. Master Aviators have logged at least 3000 hours in aircraft or served 15 years from basic rating date. This badge is 100% USA Made and consists of the shield of the code of arms of the United States over a pair of displayed wings. A star surrounded by a laurel wreath is added above the shield to indicate qualification as a Master Army aviator. This badge is also available in Black and Silver Oxide finishes, right here at Medals of America.
