The Air Force Air Traffic Controller Badge, authorized in 1987, is awarded to officer and enlisted personnel in the applicable AFSC who are graduates of a formal DOD/FAA Air Traffic Controller (ATC) course and possess a valid ATC certificate. The training an job assignments to these personnel enables them to have a direct and distinct role in the control of air traffic in support of the Air Force mission. The senior badge required a minimum of 7 years and the master badge required a minimum of 15 years of practical ATC experience. This badge was replaced by the Command and Control Badge. The badge design includes an olive wreath wrapped around a shield displaying an air traffic control tower. This badge is official issue, comes in approved mirror finish, and secures to the uniform via standard prong and clutch back. This item is made, inspected, and shipped by Veterans in the USA. This badge is regulation size, measuring 3 inches.
