Authorized in 1987 and awarded to officer and enliste4d personnel in the applicable AFSC who are graduates of a formal DOD/FAA Air Traffic Controller (ATC) course and possess a valid ATC certificate.
The training an job assignments to these personnel enables them to have a direct and distinct role in the control of air traffic in support of the Air Force mission. The senior badge required a minimum of 7 years and the master badge required a minimum of 15 years of practical ATC experience. This badge was replaced by the Command and Control Badge.
