Air Force Recognition Mini-Ribbon

Instituted: 1980 Criteria: Awarded to individual recipients of Air Force-level special trophies and awards Devices: Bronze, Silver Oak Leaf Cluster Authorized on October 12, 1980 and effective January 1, 1981. Awarded to individual recipients of Air Force level special trophies and awards, as listed in appropriate Air Force regulations, except the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year nominees. It is not awarded to individuals of a unit which receives a special award. The ribbon is not awarded retroactively. The ribbon design is patterned after the Air Force Cross ribbon with a red stripe in the center. Bronze and silver oak leaf clusters are used to denote additional awards.
