Air Force Organizational Excellence Award Mini-Ribbon

Instituted: 1969 Criteria: Same as Outstanding Unit Award but awarded to unique unnumbered organizations performing staff functions Devices: Bronze Letter “V”, Bronze, Silver Oak Leaf Cluster The Air Force Organizational Excellence Award was established on August 26, 1969 to recognize unique, unnumbered organizations/units that have performed exceptionally meritorious service for a nominated time period of not less than two years. It is awarded to recognize the achievements and accomplishments of Air Force organizations or activities that do not meet the eligibility requirements of the Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards such as Headquarters organizations and Air Force Academy units. The letter “V” is authorized if awarded for combat or direct combat support actions. Additional awards are signified by bronze and silver oak leaf clusters.
