The Distinguished Flying Cross Ribbon was authorized on July 2, 1926, and implemented by an executive order signed by President Calvin Coolidge on January 28, 1927. It is awarded to United States military personnel for heroism or extraordinary achievement that is clearly distinctive involving operations during an aerial flight that is not routine. Distinguished Flying Cross Ribbons are worn on Army/Air Force uniforms with Bronze, Silver Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Letter "V" (Air Force) devices, and Navy/Marine Corps/Coast Guard uniforms with Bronze Letter "V", Gold Star, Silver Star devices. The ribbons are made to the highest official government standards and uniform approved. All of the ribbons we have featured are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
