In 1958 the current USMC shooting badges replaced the old USMC shooting badges with the Pistol Expert badge being one of them. Similar to the rifle expert, the badge used to be titled Expert Pistolman to Pistol Expert. The pistols being displayed in the badge the pistols represented are M1911A1. Has a shiny, mirror finish that measures 1 7/16 inches and is made in the USA.
