Alaskan Defense Command Patch2 1/2" diameter circular military spec color shoulder patch. This is a World War II patch. A Regular Army unit but the insignia was discontinued in 1975. The unit wore the WWII Insignia of the Alaska Department which was redesignated. The polar bear on the patch is indigenous to Alaska and suggests this region along with the single star which represents the North Star.
