Army Jungle Expert Patch2 1/2" diameter circular military spec color shoulder patch with 'Jungle Expert' tab on top of the patch. The tab is worn above the Southern Command shoulder patch and signifies that the wearer has successfully completed the Jungle Operations Course and has received the Jungle Expert Certificate from the Jungle Operations Training Center at Fort Sherman, Canal Zone. Authorization to wear the Jungle Expert tab above the Southern Command insignia as pocket patch rests with Major Commanders. The Center is a recognized Department of the Army School and was established in July of 1968 but has been in operation since 1951.
