Marine Hat Brass Black Metal

Branch of Service Insignia is modeled after the Marine Corps Emblem, except without the motto scroll.  This insignia is worn on the uniform cap, coat collars and lapels. The officers' dress insignia is gold and silver. The enlisted branch of service insignia is the same general design as the officers' insignia except the dress insignia is gold. The service insignia was bronze from World War II until June 1963 when the color was changed to non-glossy black. The service insignia for both officers and enlisted is currently non-glossy black.
