USAF Senior Navigator Wings
A silver winged badge with the Air Force seal centered on a shield with star mounted above the shield.
Approximately 3" width, and the mini badge will be approximately 2" width.
The senior navigator rating was initially awarded for 6 years operational experience as a navigator. USAF regulations in 1958 specified that both written and flight examinations were required to be awarded this rating. Regulations later required 7 years rated status as a navigator, 2000 total flight hours (1300 hours if 1000 hours was jet time), and 72 months of operational flying experience by the 12th year of aviation service. It has a five-pointed star centered above the wing.
